I had a very good experience with Richard as a tutor. I did a group tutoring session, and the entire time he made sure both of us were comfortable with the material before moving forward. He gave us a lot of useful resources to use to improve our skills, and overall restored the confidence we needed to continue working hard in the course. He also gave each of us a copy of neatly taken detailed notes to review after the session. Overall was very helpful!

Richard is a very good tutor, he's familiar with what you are currently doing in your course. Being familiar with what you you are currently doing in your class, your lectures, and your syllabus is very important if you want effective tutoring help, and that makes Richard a better tutor than others. He cam e prepared, with our current Course note book text, and many past exams. He gives structured advice on what you should focus on and and explains things step by step. Thanks :)

Extremely helpful tutor session. Only had just over an hour but managed to get through most of the learning concepts expected for the exam, so he was able to make good use of time. He also recommended effective study plans and extra resources. I also got to keep many pages of notes he wrote during the session to use as future reference. He also helped with my current "OSH" that I was very stuck on. I have a hard time passing my calculus exams and after this session I feel much more prepared. Would definitely recommend! Thank you!

My experience was excellent. As soon as we sat down it was obvious that Richard knew exactly what he was talking about, from years of experience. I needed help with Math 105, and Richard started by giving me a large amount of extremely helpful resources to prepare with. His patient and step by step walkthroughs of problems and concepts were easy to follow and understand. Furthermore, each problem we did was chosen by Richard for its applicability to understanding larger concepts, and many were drawn from challenging parts of past midterms and exams.
oediri reviewed 1 year ago:
After readin Richard's biography, and other students testimonials about him, I was instantly sold to the prospect of following my regular lectures with additionally tutor material. Richard did not disappoint, but rather exceeded my expectations with his methodical teaching methods, his clear cut notes, his grasp of mathematics as a whole and his welcome package, where he introduces the subject of mathematics with a sense of ease.
I definitely grasped more than what I did whilst in classes, and I recommend anyone else who struggles with any aspect of Mathematics as a whole to meet up with Richard, and assess the topics again, with him by your side. I guarantee he won't disappoint.

Very friendly, patient, and well prepared. He knows the general schedule of the courses because he has been tutoring them for so long, and on top of that he also keeps up to date with courses through his other students as well as the online course material and layouts. This shows his capability to help us students excel in our courses week by week but keeping an eye on the major goal such as midterms and tests.

I met with Richard for the first time today and I am confident I have found a tutor to count on for the remainder of the term for MATH101. You can easily tell just how knowledgable he is with mathematics and has a genuine concern for your understanding! He also provides you with notes and resources, including videos to watch and worksheets to do, so that you can really practice the material and obtain the best understanding. Based on what I have seen so far, I truly recommend his tutoring service!

It was great, Reza (Richard) was well prepared, had a clear understanding of the material (math 255/215). Both me and my friend walked out the session feeling more confident for our exam (we are huge slackers). Furthermore Reza is very kind and also has a great sense of humor which helps with the learning experience. If you are not prepared for your exams Reza is your man.

Richard is an amazing tutor. He works through problems with efficiency and ease, however always stops to make sure that you are understanding the broader concepts of the entire course, rather than just how to solve specific problems. He is very knowledgeable and by far the best tutor I have met on HelpHub so far. I would recommend him to anyone needing help at UBC!

Richard is patient with his students and very motivational in helping the student continue to strive for success within their academic studies. Helps students clearly with certain problems in a calm manner that doesn't rush the student if they don't understand the certain material. He works step by step for the problems that the students don't get and doesn't rush to the next topic if the student doesn't get the previous one. He works patiently until the student fully masters the material, to ensure that he is helping the student succeed in every way possible!

Richard was very patient and friendly. I was in a bit of a panic and he was able to calm me down so that I could listen to what he was saying. You can rate a tutor whenever you pay them. After every tutoring session or payment, we will send you a text message or e-mail to ask whether you recommend them or not.
Once you verify your profile, you can request phone tutoring calls. We will first call the tutor to request the call, and if accepted, we'll call your number and merge the two calls. You only start getting charged when the calls are merged.
If the tutor is online, you'll see a green light in the Video Call button. The tutor will see and hear the incoming call on the site. If they are offline, we will send them a text message and e-mail asking them to go online. Once they become available, we'll notify you so you can call them.
